Whooops! It's been a while!

Working on making White Shells, NC into a longer book narrative! I'm pretty effin' excited, so far it includes: a bull terrier named Cricket, softball, the summer before college, overalls cut into shortalls, girls with boy's names (The final girl's name is Winifred, but her friends call her Fred), parents buying beach houses to combat empty nest syndrome, salsa, pot, soda, vodka, gin, girls giving blow jobs to ex-boyfriends for a jealous reaction, daydreams, daydreams in showers, wild horses getting into trash, cleaning montages, pottery class, making out on porches and collect calls. And that's just in the first half, before anyone is killed (not counting the 1956 massacre at White Shells High flashback)!

It is going to be really graphic and totally NC-17, it's sort of tough deciding what is scary and what is just goofy though. Thinking about basic slasher set-ups, I don't want the cast to be too big, so I've narrowed it down to three main girls and one guy (there are maybe two auxiliary girls and one guy, but their deaths are the catalyst for the panic.). I do want it to be completely super natural though, so the killer is going to be a ghost. Duh.

Another thing I'm struggling with is making the comic totally cinematic. I feel like that's an easy way to tackle it. Some artists, like Katsuhiro Otomo (especially in Domu) know how to make simple images completely haunting and cinematic, without relying solely on wide, sweeping shots.

I've been watching any slasher/thriller movies I can get my hands on, My Bloody Valentine, Rosemary's Baby and The House of the Devil are some of my instant favorites. Carol Clover's Men, Women and Chain Saws is halfway done, it's a really good read. I never watched scary movies growing up, so I feel like I have to make up for lost time and really wrap my head around all of this! GUYS, I'M REALLY PUMPED ABOUT THIS COMIC. I think it'll be a good learning experience.

Sorta goofy and spooky, huh? I think I'm going to keep White Shells as a project I add to when drawing kids comics gets a lil' too cute and I gotta draw some gore.

Next it's onto V'GER! And some Shimmer Space Sweethearts!

Wow!

I haven't updated since NOVEMBER? Pitiful! Here are some doodles of a few Shimmer Space Sweetheart ideas. This webcomic is going to be all about baseball Sentai heroes, frozen tundras, anime mascots, Magical Girls, sympathetic anthropomorphic animal teachers and townsfolk, arcades, popularity, finding religion, flowers (duh!), blimps and air travel, man-made planets and a ton more! All in about 350 pages (I have a 3 year plan to get this done and I'm stickin' to it!).

I started penciling V'Ger the other day, and it's been going pretty well! That little guy is fun to draw, and it's exciting exploring all the planets! I want to have everything V'Ger related done by Septemberish, but you guys will be the first to know. Then I'm hitting Shimmer Space Sweethearts really hard. It's weird juggling V'Ger and SSS right now, but I know getting my ideas down now will be better in the long run.

Hey everybody! Here are some drawings I did this week! Chugging away at comics, same old same old! The first is from Dreamwork's How to Train your Dragon, which ruled, and the art books rules even more!

The second one is like a BETA BETA BETA version of some characters I want to do in a webcomic (like in 201X!), it's a magical girl series! It's in space! It's gonna be called "Shimmer Space Sweethearts"!

I haven't died!

I've been working on that story I told you guys about, the action packed one. I'm excited to announce that the first 16ish pages are almost done! Every girl in the comic has really fun hair to draw, but sometimes I don't even know whats going on with it, some of them need mad Pert Plus. Here is a crummy little photobooth picture of one of the later pages (the part that takes place in 1993, not the 1956 part)

V'GER: Intergalactic Delivery Boy!

My first blog post!
In an attempt to be professional after graduating college (only 2 weeks ago!), I've started this blog! I'm going to keep everyone updated on what I'm working on. Also, I wanna see what everyone else is doing!
V'GER: Intergalactic Delivery Boy is a comic about a small alien who works for Comet Deliveries. He very recently got a new type of truck that is able to break down a wide variety of objects and use them as fuel!
These are a few tight roughs for the first few pages!

Little V'Ger is going to end up visiting all of the planets in our solar system in search for his kidnapped sister!

From left to right, we have: V'Ger, Sissy Saavik, Gamma Granny and triKing Pluto! Obviously I love the first Star Trek movie a lot, but Wrath of Khan is so good too.
